DNA tests replaced? Claudia Sonea

Under the license of Identity Sciences LLC there has been released a new technology, more exactly a test of human identification based on antibodies pattern. Although it is cheaper and faster than the DNA tests, its creators said that the intention is not to replace the latter one. There is a unique antibodies pattern traceable in blood, saliva or other fluids and useful for the immunity and mental sanity of a person. Since 1998 at the Idaho National Laboratory researchers have strived to come up with a test based on the pattern mentioned previously. It is meant to sort things out at the scene of a crime (blood traces or body pieces). The only flaw that is obvious up to this point is the lack of a database with information on antibodies patterns at a national level and that is why it won't stand as an evidence to incriminate a suspect. Nevertheless, Gene Venesky, vice president of Identity Sciences, stated the test will give the case the chance to move forward and get to untouchable evidence concluding with a charge. Until next year in fall, test kits will be available to law enforcement, the military and forensic and medical labs worldwide and will be accompanied by training that is very easy. According to the press release it will be way cheaper than the DNA tests, but they still have to agree on the final price. It is still a test that raises many concerns and only after being used on the field, it can be tagged as useful or not. All officers and prosecutors must pay a lot of attention when using in their reports as the defense lawyers might take it as an advantage to clear charges.
