Google a anuntta de curand ca aceste cookie-uri vor expira automat dupa doi ani.Brendon Lynch, directroul de strategii de intimitate Microsoft a declarat pentru eweek.com ca acesti pasi sunt facuti de catre companie deoarece au simtit:"ca este momentul potrivit sa oferim mai multa transaparenta in legatura cu practicile pentru clientii nostri. Aceste lucruri sunt dezbatute acum. Aceste lucruri sunt despre faptul ca noi descriem ce facem in aceasta lume."A spus de asemenea ca consumatorii vor ce e mai bun de la ambele lumi: servici gratuite, personalizate si intimitatea protejata. Unele voci spun ca toata aceasta vorbarie despre protejarea intimitatii este de fapt o miscare inteligenta pentru a da oamenilor mai multa incredere in servicii, fara ca companiile sa trebuiasca sa faca ceva concret. Cine stie? Poate ca exact asta se si intampla. Totusi NSA asculta toate convorbirile telefonice si multora dintre cei vizati nu le convine deloc aceasta actiune- este o miscare excelenta de PR sa anunti ca Microsoft, Google sau orice alta companie nu tin rapoarte in privinta cautailor tale, a IP-urilor si ne protejeaza intimitatea.Imi vine sa cred cu toata caldura aceasta idee mai mult decat cea in care gigantii acestia sunt sinceri si ingrijorati in privinta respectarii drepturilor noatre la confidentialitate.
