Extinction is quite well known term in the nature. Many kinds of animals, which used to live in our planet for years, do not exist anymore and now we can see them just in some encyclopedias. Also nowadays, many animals live in just very small numbers, they are endangered and an extinction of them is possible during the next years. But what about people? Yes, in these days population of people living on the earth is about 6.6 billions and the eventual extinction is much improbable. However, a question is: Has there ever been a probability of extinction of human beings in the past? The answer is: Yes, it has. According to a large genetic study that has been made, experts suggest that a human population was in a danger of extinction about 70,000 years ago, when number of living people was sharply reduced to about 2000 individuals. They also consider, extreme drought was a main cause, why population was reduced to small isolated groups in Africa. Spencer Wells, National Geographic Society explorer mentioned that this study also demonstrates the abnormal strength of genetics, that can help us to bring to light all things and events we were forced to face as an animal kind during for thousands of years. Another research which has been led by Saharon Rosset of IBM T.J. Watson Research Center in New York and Doron Behar of Rambam Medical Center says that these small groups of people came back together in Stone Age and began to increase their number and populate other areas.
