That is why the researchers have created a modified knee brace with a drive train that converts the mechanical energy into electricity. The new device's ability is to generate a power for cell phone for 10 minutes by a minute of walking. It applies also to support of a portable GPS locator, a motorized prosthetic joint or other devices certain people need to carry regularly. Although the prototype still looks bulky, the aspiration of the inventors is to improve and spread it to popularize the "creator of energy" mainly among people whose every-day long-distance walking could contribute into the expansion of the device and consequently, into the new type of finding the sources of energy. The mentioned invention isn't the only one that has been unveiled since the rise of the discussion about producing power. For instance, a backpack that generates electricity from the movement of the person carrying it belongs to previously released innovations. As I think about it, there is another idea how to get the most of human-induced mechanical power. The number of fitness centers or gyms mostly throughout the U. S. would be able to produce a great amount of energy if all the power originated by sport equipment was gathered and used for creation of energy for various applications in the neighborhood of the gym. Although it may seem funny to imagine that people would actually work in the gym while being obliged to pay for their action, the great usage of that is apparent. Having this idea we just need to promote it and who knows. Maybe in the future we all will be typing, talking or cooking with the particular devices on our wrists, mouths or arms.
